Chase

Chase is about a character escaping the clutches of a roaming killer who is actively hunting them. The person has to use the tools at their disposal which comes at the form of personalized abilities to defend themselves. 

It is an asymmetrical horror game which means the whole gameplay element revolves around the player running around the map escaping the killer until the time runs out. if the killer manages to kill them, it’s game over. 

I would like to focus a lot on the atmosphere surrounding the game to evoke the feeling of dread and impending doom awaiting the player. You are not meant to survive unless you play correctly. There will be an element of fear of course if the player manages to temporarily escape from the killer’s clutches.

How this will work is that I will be making one character controlled by the player which will have stats on the screen showing how much health they have. As for the killer, they will be AI controlled, roaming around the map searching for the player. If they manage to find the player, they will enter attack mode, and try to kill the player, if they succeed, the screen will go red and then turn black with a “try again” screen. 

The player isn’t totally powerless as stated previously, they will have abilities to defend themselves by faster running.
